Information for Patients

If you are interested in joining the RADICALS study, please speak to your hospital doctor or nurse.

*Important information about your data (UK patients only)*

In this trial, two of our key points of interest are finding out how many people are free from distant metastases (cancer that has spread from the original tumour to other distant organs or distant lymph nodes), and how many people are still alive at the end of the trial. By looking at the data that you provide, we hope that we will be able to better understand which treatments are effective and in turn improve survival outcomes for patients.

To ensure adequate follow-up and capture of relevant mortality data for all patients that are currently enrolled in the trial, we will securely transfer your personal details such as your NHS number and date of birth to  NHS Digital. NHS Digital on behalf of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) will provide us the requested data. Please click on the link to learn more about NHS Digital https://digital.nhs.uk/article/220/Our-purpose

After obtaining the requested ONS mortality data, we will update our trial database to ensure that we have the most up-to date information on you. If at any point you feel that you do not want us to collect data on your survival status, then please feel free to get in touch with your hospital doctor who will inform us of your decision and we will no longer request further information about you.
